A lovely family are looking for a warm, caring and reliable nanny to care for their happy and energetic 4-year-old. This is a wonderful role for someone who enjoys spending quality time with children and creating a fun, engaging environment after the school day.

This family are looking for a calm, capable and trustworthy person to become part of a busy but relaxed family home supporting three children, including a baby. The children are aged 9 and 7 years and 18 months.
This is a varied role blending childcare and household support. During the day, the successful candidate will focus primarily on caring for the family’s 18-month-old, planning engaging, age-appropriate activities, encouraging development through play, spending plenty of time outdoors and supporting a nurturing environment. After school, the role becomes more flexible, providing support wherever it is most needed. The family are very home-based and enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring the surrounding countryside, baking, gardening and creative play. There will also be occasional babysitting and the opportunity to accompany the family on UK and overseas trips.

This will suit someone looking for a long-term position, in the countryside, within a warm family environment, with flexibility, variety and room to grow with the role over time.

The successful candidate will take over when the baby is approximately four months old, ensuring a smooth transition into the next stage of their development.
The ideal candidate will have excellent experience caring for babies of a similar age and be confident supporting developmental milestones, routines, and the changing needs of an infant. The baby is currently combination-fed, thriving, and has established a lovely routine, which the family would like to continue. The mother is enjoying every stage of her baby’s development and appreciates being kept informed of upcoming milestones and progress.
Candidates should have an up-to-date knowledge of current NHS guidance, including safer sleep recommendations, and be confident maintaining records of the baby’s routines, feeding, sleep, and developmental progress. Someone with a good knowledge of teething, weaning and all other milestones. A calm, nurturing, proactive, and collaborative approach is essential, with the ability to work closely alongside the parents while providing reassurance and expert support.
The role is based primarily in Devon, with occasional travel to London (approximately 70% Devon and 30% London), so flexibility to travel between both locations is essential. Live-in accommodation is provided while based in Devon. In London, accommodation is available for overnight stays only.
The family would also welcome occasional overnight support, particularly during periods of transition, to provide additional assistance to the mother when required.
The family’s current Maternity Nurse will be away from 31st August to 6th September 2026, and they would ideally like the successful candidate to provide cover during this period. This would allow the family to meet their new nanny in advance and ensure a seamless handover before the permanent role begins.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Maternity Nanny seeking a long-term position with a warm, appreciative family who value professional support and continuity of care.
