International Child Educator and Childcare Jobs
Are you looking for a Child Educator or Childcare job abroad? Harmony at Home International is based in the UK and Greece and can help you find an amazing job abroad. We place experienced governesses, tutors and nannies in long and short-term positions with professional families internationally and worldwide.
Depending on the role, the work will vary from one-to-one teaching, to assisting older children with homework, or teaching English, nursery duties as well as overseeing after-school activities.
Accommodation usually consists of your own bedroom and bathroom within the family home. Some positions offer separate accommodation, ranging from flats, apartments and cottages in the grounds or nearby. Most international homes are staffed, and you may work alongside a local nanny as well.
International Child Educator and Childcare Qualifications
All candidates must have recognised childcare or teaching qualifications (for governess, tutor and nanny positions). These can include the following:
- PGCE/PGDE or equivalent qualification

- Norland qualification
- Montessori qualification
- NVQ qualification
- CACHE qualification
You will need a minimum of five years’ experience (ideally some of which is overseas), as well as an up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate and DBS check.
It is important to us that our candidates are happy in their international work and return to us whenever they are looking for a new international job. We will do our best to place you in the job that best fits your skills and experience. International jobs offer top salaries. Some of the most successful International Governesses, Tutors and Nannies are typically paid £700 – £1000+ per week.
International Candidate Interviews
Primary interviews for international positions are usually carried out via Skype by Judy Paish or Suzanna Harwood from the Harmony at Home International office. Suitable applicants are then flown overseas to meet the family and spend a few days with them, or the client or their representative will hold an interview in the UK, usually in London.
