Full time Nanny Housekeeper near Glastonbury

August 4, 2026 | Comments Off on Full time Nanny Housekeeper near Glastonbury

This family are looking for a calm, capable and trustworthy person to become part of a busy but relaxed family home supporting three children, including a baby. The children are aged 9 and 7 years and 18 months.

This is a varied role blending childcare and household support. During the day, the successful candidate will focus primarily on caring for the family’s 18-month-old, planning engaging, age-appropriate activities, encouraging development through play, spending plenty of time outdoors and supporting a nurturing environment. After school, the role becomes more flexible, providing support wherever it is most needed. This may involve taking one or both of the older children to clubs and activities, helping with homework or the evening routine, or remaining at home with the toddler while the parents take the older children. The family are looking for someone who is happy to adapt to the needs of each day and enjoys being part of a collaborative family team.

Other duties include preparing children’s meals, children’s laundry, keeping children’s bedrooms and play areas clean and organised, and carrying out light child-related household duties. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to use their own initiative and happy to help keep the family home running smoothly.

The family are very home-based and enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring the surrounding countryside, baking, gardening and creative play. There will also be occasional babysitting and the opportunity to accompany the family on UK and overseas trips.

A muck in attitude is essential and when one of the parents are away working it can be a full-on role but there will also be times when slightly less hours are required. The atmosphere in the house is informal and down-to-earth rather than highly structured. They are looking for someone who can bring steadiness, warmth and common sense to the rhythm of everyday life. This will suit someone looking for a long-term position, in the countryside, within a warm family environment, with flexibility, variety and room to grow with the role over time.

The family already employs a cleaner four days per week, so this role is focused more on household support than deep cleaning. A driver is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and confident using their initiative. They will naturally notice what needs doing and be happy to roll up their sleeves and help out.

The family has six children aged 17, 16, 14-year-old twins, 12, and 3 years old. A Housekeeper who enjoys working with children will be needed as an important aspect of the role will involve support for all the children – particularly during the holidays. The older children are largely independent, but will need support including lifts to activities, help preparing packed lunches for clubs, or general day-to-day support. The role will also involve managing the bedtime routine for the youngest child, aged 3, on evenings when his father is working evening/night shifts.

Responsibilities include driving the children to and from activities, managing laundry for the family, and keeping on top of organisation to ensure the house is well-stocked with groceries and other essentials. In addition, meal planning will be needed- ensuring that healthy eating and routines are maintained, and food is cooked or prepared. Some of the older children are keen cooks, so a willingness to support their engagement in the kitchen would be appreciated.

It will be important to generally maintain a tidy, organised home and support the smooth running of the household. Flexibility, discretion, and a positive, can-do attitude are essential. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Nanny/Housekeeper seeking a permanent role within a kind and appreciative household. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience. The ideal candidate will need to be dedicated and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the family. Please get in touch for further details.

A fantastic new position has arisen in Cambridge CB2 for a 4 or 5 day Nanny/Housekeeper which can be offered on a live in or live out basis from September.

You will be joining a really lovely family who have recently relocated from California. They have two happy children – 4 and 7 -who will be attending full time nursery/school and so the role will be a combination of housekeeping and nannying during the term and then will be predominantly nannying during the school holidays (private).

Your main duties during the term will include laundry, tidying and organising and cooking for the children. Changing the beds and clearing up off the dishes etc and generally keeping check on stock levels and things the children might need. Additionally, you will feel comfortable helping with homework and reading. During the school holidays, you would plan age-appropriate activities and day trips for the children. There is a swimming pool at the home so you would also be happy to go swimming!

The hours are ideally from 11am – 7/730pm though a later stay on one evening a week for babysitting would be ideal. Shorter days can also be offered if preferred though the hours of 4-7pm ideally would be covered.

The family are casual and informal and are very used to having help in the home. They do work from home full time so the nanny must be comfortable with this. They are also dog lovers and own 4 so you must feel happy with this – though no particular dog care is required as part of the role.

If living in, a beautiful separate studio can be offered. It is completely self contained with it’s own entrance which is above one of the garages and away from the family home. There is a kitchen, living area, dining area and double bed. This can be used all year round for personal use.

This is a really lovely role for someone who loves helping a home run smoothly and takes pride in their work but equally loves caring and working with children . Please get in touch today if you think this could be you!
