A professional and friendly family of four is looking to employ a domestic live in couple, to help run their stunning Grade 11 Listed Georgian home, that has recently been fully refurbished. The home has approximately 10,000 sq ft of living space, including seven bedrooms, a gym and a pool area. This beautiful home sits in 13 acres of land. The family has two teenage children, one who is at university and one who is studying for A levels.
This position is ideal for a couple where one partner takes responsibility for house management, housekeeping, household organisation, while the other manages property maintenance, handyman duties and grounds support. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, with both individuals willing to assist each other when needed. You will need to have fluent English (spoken and written) and be computer literate (emails, WhatsApp and internet). A couple who has experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous. You should have high standards of cleanliness, discretion and professionalism. You should be trustworthy, organised and self-motivated.
The responsibilities of the role will be divided as follows:
House Manager / Housekeeper Duties
• Guardian/key holder
• Laundry (including ironing and organising dry cleaning)
• Wardrobe management
• Cleaning of all rooms in the house
• Periodic deep cleaning
• Creating cleaning schedules
• Preparation of family meals when required
• Grocery shopping
• Larder management
• Cleaning supplies management
• Running errands
• Driving of client
• Managing tradespeople and contractors
• Receive and record deliveries
• Pet care and walking (two dogs)
• Housesitting when client is away
Handyman Duties
• Guardian/key holder
• Ensuring all outdoor areas are clean, safe and manicured (gardeners are also employed)
• Care of cars, vehicle checks
• Facilities ready. i.e., BBQ, Pizza oven, etc
• Running errands
• Driving of clients when required
• Handyman skills
• Light maintenance
• Gutter clearing
• Ensure waste bins are collected, recycling, etc
• Possible pool maintenance
• Helping with cleaning and organising when required
• Managing tradespeople and contractors
• Security minded, ensure opening and closing procedure are followed
• Receive and record deliveries
• Pet care and walking (two dogs)
• Housesitting when client is away
The core hours of the role will be Monday – Friday, 08.00-18.00, but these hours are to be flexible, to suit the needs of the client. Any additional hours will be paid as overtime. You will have an unpaid lunch hour each day, so you will work 45 hours each week.
You will both need to be careful and confident drivers. There will be a car provided for use on duty.
The accommodation provided will be a one bedroom, fully furnished cottage close to the main house, with all bills included.
