August 7, 2026 | Comments Off on Part Time, Live Out, Housekeeper, Harpenden, Hertfordshire
A warm and professional family of three in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced, reliable housekeeper to help maintain the day-to-day running of their home. The family has a 14-year-old daughter and a dog, which is regularly exercised by a dog walker.
This position is primarily focused on housekeeping, but applicants should enjoy being around children. You will be the responsible adult in the home when their daughter returns from school. While she is very independent and does not require childcare, the family would appreciate someone who can encourage her to complete her homework, provide a friendly presence, and help establish a consistent evening routine.
The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 15.00-19.00 (16 hours/week). The role could also work as a three day (12 hour/week) position if preferred, the salary would be adjusted for this.
The family employs a weekly cleaner, so your role will be to ensure the home remains clean, organised, and running efficiently between visits. Duties will include:
· Keeping the home tidy and well organised, including a daily reset of the kitchen, bedrooms, and living areas
· Managing the family’s laundry, including washing, ironing, and bed linen
· Changing beds on a regular basis
· Unpacking and putting away grocery deliveries and household shopping
· Planning, preparing, and cooking healthy, nutritious family meals in line with an agreed menu and any dietary requirements
· Ensuring their daughter is organised for the following day, including school uniform, school bag etc, and any other essentials
· Running occasional household errands, such as visiting the post office or dry cleaners
· Feeding the family dog
A full driving licence and your own car are essential, as some driving will be required. Duty mileage will be reimbursed.
The family is hoping to welcome someone who is proactive, trustworthy, kind, and dependable. They would love to find a housekeeper who is naturally warm, enjoys being around children, and will become a positive and supportive presence within their home.

A fantastic new position has arisen in Trumpington to care for 3 children who are 12, 9 and 2. The role is 2-7pm 3 days per week – Monday- Wednesday but there is scope for this to be 5 days per week too.

August 3, 2026 | Comments Off on Nanny for a Wonderful Family with Two Boys
Harmony at Home is delighted to be assisting a warm and welcoming family in their search for a kind, nurturing and engaging nanny to become an important part of their home.
This is a unique opportunity to join a family with two lovely boys, where the primary focus of the role will be supporting the eldest son, who has cerebral palsy and complex physical needs. Whilst experience of working with children with cerebral palsy or additional needs would be an advantage, it is by no means essential. The family are looking for someone with the right attitude, warmth and willingness to learn, as full training will be provided in every aspect of his care, including his daily physiotherapy programme and moving and handling.
Their eldest son is a happy, sociable young man who attends school each day. The nanny will collect him from school before returning home to support him with his physiotherapy exercises. The family home is fully adapted with specialist equipment, including hoists, making his daily routine safe and well supported. He is able to feed himself independently and enjoys relaxed family mealtimes. The family would love to find someone who can help create calm, enjoyable evenings where everyone comes together over dinner before spending time playing games or enjoying activities as a family.
Although the eldest son’s needs are the main focus, this is very much a nanny position rather than a care role. His younger brother has no additional needs, and the family place enormous importance on ensuring he feels just as included and involved in everyday life. They would love to find someone who naturally encourages both boys to spend time together, incorporating the younger brother into activities and, where appropriate, even making physiotherapy sessions fun and inclusive so that they become a shared part of the afternoon rather than something that separates the siblings.
The family are supported overnight by a dedicated team of experienced carers who have cared for their eldest son since he was three years old, allowing the nanny’s role to remain focused on the children’s after-school routine, family time and creating a happy, nurturing environment.
Travel with the family would be a bonus but it is not essential and flexibility for more hours in the school holidays would be appreciated.
This position would suit a compassionate, positive and proactive nanny who enjoys becoming part of family life and is looking for a truly rewarding role. Above all, the family hope to find someone who will embrace both boys equally, helping each of them flourish while bringing warmth, laughter and kindness into their home.
The family are looking to relocate to Watford in 12-18 months, dependent on a house renovation that has not yet started. Ideally they would like someone who will stay with them when they move but are open to someone staying until they relocate.
Location of the job: Chiswick, London
Minimum experience Level for this job: Childcare experience
Details of any training needed for this job: Full training will be given for health needs.

The children all attend local schools, which are within easy walking distance of the family home.
The parents are passionate about providing a balanced upbringing, encouraging the children to learn, develop and thrive. They are looking for someone who enjoys planning engaging activities such as reading, arts and crafts, puzzles, Lego, imaginative play and baking, balanced with plenty of fresh air, park visits and outdoor adventures. During the school holidays, you’ll have the opportunity to organise enjoyable outings, such as trips to the farm and other age-appropriate activities.
The children enjoy a variety of after-school clubs and sporting activities, and you will be responsible for taking them to these activities and supporting them with homework and their daily routines.
While the children are at school, your focus will shift to helping the household run smoothly. Responsibilities will include preparing and cooking healthy, nutritious family meals (batch cooking skills would be highly valued), keeping the children’s bedrooms and play areas clean, tidy and organised, managing the family laundry (including towels and bed linen), emptying and loading the dishwasher, ensuring the home is left neat and organised at the end of each day, preparing school bags, packed lunches and sports kits, and running the occasional errand as required.
The family employs a weekly cleaner, so this is very much a housekeeping support role rather than deep cleaning.
The family also has two friendly cats and a fish, so a genuine love of animals is essential.
A careful, confident driver with a full, clean driving licence and their own fully insured car is required. Business mileage will be reimbursed.
This family is open to discussing a nanny taking along their own child if required.
If this fabulous role sounds like something you would enjoy, please apply below.

A lovely professional and down-to-earth family living in Oxted, Surrey are looking for a positive, reliable and flexible nanny Monday – Friday 11am – 7pm to care for their two children aged 9 and 2 years old. They also have a 17 year old living at home, however he is very self sufficient. The hours will stay the same all year round but it would be great to find someone who is willing to be flexible where possible (e.g. to cover extra ad hoc hours from time to time). Their current nanny is going on maternity leave in late September/early October so they are looking for a late September 2026 start, but this could change subject to confirmation on maternity leave start date. The role will involve all nursery duties and some light housekeeping, and the family would welcome a candidate who would be happy to cook dinners to feed the whole family, as both parents have demanding schedules .
