We are delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for an experienced and engaging after-school nanny to join a warm and welcoming family based in Kensington. This is a term-time only position, as the family travels during school holidays.
The role involves collecting the youngest child, a bright and enthusiastic 6-year-old boy, from school and accompanying him home. Once home, the nanny will oversee his afternoon routine, including preparing a snack and supporting him with his homework. He is currently preparing for his 7+ exams and, as he is not a native English speaker, may occasionally require additional explanation or clarification of tasks. He enjoys his study time and approaches his work positively, so the right candidate will provide calm, encouraging academic guidance to help build his confidence and understanding.
After homework is completed, the nanny will be expected to organise fun and educational activities that stimulate his curiosity and creativity. This may include reading, educational games, creative projects, or other enriching activities that complement his learning in an enjoyable way. Planning these in advance would be a big advantage.
The older brother, aged 11, returns home from school at approximately 5:00pm. The nanny will help ensure a relaxed and supportive environment at the end of his school day and offer light supervision as needed.
The family employs a regular housekeeper; therefore, no cleaning or housekeeping duties are required. Occasional babysitting may be requested and will be compensated as overtime.
The ideal candidate will be warm, proactive, and confident supporting primary-level academics, particularly English, with a nurturing yet structured approach. This is a lovely role for a professional nanny seeking a long-term, term-time position with a kind and respectful family.
