Caretaking Couple for Country Estate in Mid Wales

A unique opportunity has arisen for a responsible and enthusiastic couple to live on a historic estate set above the River Wye. In exchange for flexible part-time support, you will enjoy a three-bedroom house and the chance to become part of the estate community. The role is focused on security and caretaking while the principals are away, ensuring the property is opened and secured for household staff. You will also provide occasional support to the estate team on projects, light domestic assistance such as ironing, practical help in the house with things like light bulbs and tap washers and similar minor maintenance tasks and general help with household needs, particularly when visitors are expected. Flexibility is key, hours will be arranged in advance each month to fit around your lifestyle, and you are free to take on additional part-time work locally. This arrangement is ideal for a couple who enjoy working together, contributing to estate life, and who take pride in ensuring a historic property is well cared for. Set among ancient woodland, walled gardens, greenhouses, herbaceous borders, and lakes, the estate offers a truly special living environment for the right couple.
