This family are looking for some support with their 12 year old’s home-schooling on a fixed term basis, starting asap.
This is initially until the summer holidays however there could be the potential of the need for some ongoing support depending on the circumstances. The 12 year old boy has been in mainstream school until recently when he had a sporting accident and is now struggling to be in environments with noise and therefore the family are home schooling him in the comfort and security of his home environment where he feels happy and comfortable. He is a creative boy and enjoys art so someone with an interest in this would be ideal.
You will need to have some teaching experience or a teaching qualification to support him with his Year 7 studies. This may take the form of an external tutor or online study and you supervising and manging this or if you have the experience of tutoring then you could be the one to plan and carry out the school work and learning. The idea is to integrate him back into school in September or maybe sooner if he is ready so you will be key to this transition.
They are looking for someone empathetic, calm and creative to build a trusting relationship with the boy to support and encourage him in his learning but also in his creativity and socialisation. The parents are looking for a mix of education and some fun and are happy for you to take him to small groups or out for some of the day when he is ready for this.
The home is cosy and family orientated, Mum lives here with her two boys aged 12 and 9 years (there is no care required for the 9 year old as he will be at full time school). They enjoy spending time outdoors and they have a large garden, they are all about enjoying life together. They enjoy adventures, love and laughter.
