Third-time parents are seeking an experienced maternity practitioner from mid-October following the arrival of their newborn. The family would ideally like 2–3 weeks of 24-hour cover, followed by night support for the remainder of the booking. They are also open to splitting the role between two practitioners, with one covering the initial 24-hour period and another taking over the night support.
The ideal candidate will provide calm, confident guidance while working in partnership with the parents, supporting them to make informed decisions throughout the postnatal period. A respectful, collaborative approach within the family home is essential.
Duties will include all nursery-related tasks, maintaining a daily log of feeds, sleep, and care, monitoring the baby’s development, and offering evidence-based guidance on age-appropriate milestones. The mother hopes to breastfeed while introducing bottles, with feeding led by the baby’s individual needs.
Applicants should have up-to-date knowledge of current NHS guidance and safe sleep practices and be confident in establishing a gentle, flexible routine tailored to the family. Although the role is primarily focused on the newborn, there will be opportunities to positively involve the older siblings where appropriate.
The family lives in a beautiful rural area of Hertfordshire with excellent rail links into London. Due to the location, a driver is essential.
