First-time parents are seeking an experienced maternity practitioner to provide overnight support following the arrival of their baby, expected in mid-December.
Both parents are from Scandinavia and have no family support in the UK, so they are looking for a knowledgeable and nurturing professional who can guide them through the early weeks of parenthood.
The initial booking will be for two weeks, with flexibility for an earlier start if the baby arrives ahead of schedule. The role will continue until the family travels away over the New Year period. There may also be opportunities for additional dates in the new year, by mutual agreement.
The mother hopes to breastfeed while introducing bottle feeds early on to allow others to feed the baby. The parents are keen to establish a suitable routine from the outset and would particularly value a practitioner who is happy to share their knowledge, answer questions and build their confidence as new parents.
The ideal candidate will have extensive newborn care experience, a strong understanding of NHS guidance and safe sleep practices, and a calm, warm and reassuring approach. Excellent communication skills, patience and the ability to work independently overnight while keeping the parents informed and involved are essential.
Above all, the family is looking for someone who is approachable, supportive and respectful of their preferences, and who will be a natural fit for their family during this special time.
The parents are flexible and happy to discuss Christmas arrangements with the right candidate.
