A lovely down to earth family based in the Leytonstone area of London are looking for an experienced and brilliant nanny to join their family from Monday to Friday, working 8am–6.30pm (with potentially a later start and earlier finish on Fridays for the right person). This is a fixed-term position until August 2027, when the family are planning to relocate during the summer holidays. They are flexible on the start date, ideally they would like someone to start November/December, and at the very latest early January. The salary on offer is £20–£22 gph DOE (£53,560 – £58,916 gpa).
The family have two lovely children, aged 4 years and 16 months. Their eldest attends school, and the nanny will be responsible for collecting him by bus everyday with the toddler. If the nanny is a confident cyclist, there is also a cargo bike available to use, although this is absolutely not essential.
The role will involve all usual nanny duties, including preparing and cooking healthy meals for the children, managing their laundry and keeping the children’s areas of the home tidy and organised. The family are particularly keen to find someone with a strong understanding of child development who can actively support their youngest child’s developmental milestones and motor skills. The nanny will be expected to plan and organise engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development, as well as taking the youngest to classes and local groups. Once the eldest has been collected from school, the afternoons will be spent at home, balancing fun and imaginative play with quieter activities to help the children wind down after a busy day, before preparing and giving them dinner.
During school holidays, the nanny will have sole charge of both children and will be expected to plan exciting and varied days out, arranging activities and visits to places that are fun, stimulating and suitable for both children. No driving is required for this role and there is no family travel involved.
The family have a lovely, very friendly Labrador who is very much part of the family, so someone who genuinely enjoys being around dogs would be ideal, although there are no pet duties involved.
The family’s previous nanny, who we placed with them, has been with them for 3 years which is a lovely reflection of the positive working environment on offer. They are looking for someone who is warm, reliable, proactive and nurturing, and who will become a valued member of their family during their time in London.
