A wonderful down to earth and welcoming family in Balham are looking for an experienced, caring and proactive nanny to work 12pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, from early September (flexible with start date) to look after their two daughters aged 2 ½ and 4 ½.
They are offering a salary of £22-24gph (£45,760-£49,920)
The role is split between household management while the children are at nursery and school, followed by sole-charge care after school. From September 2026, both girls will be in full-time education (nursery and primary school) between approximately 8:00am and 3:30–4:00pm. They are looking for someone who will provide a calm, nurturing and structured environment after school, while also taking pride in maintaining an organised and well-run home. Childcare responsibilities will include collecting both children from nursery and school each afternoon (both <400m of the family home) prepare healthy, nutritious dinners for the children, and support with homework, reading and learning as they grow. Someone to plan fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities, and to encourage good manners, independence and positive behaviour, as well as manage the evening routine, including bath time and bedtime. During school and nursery hours, responsibilities will include family laundry and ironing, changing bed linen, light daily cleaning, tidying and sorting to maintain an organised home ( no deep cleaning). Furthermore they’d like the nanny to help with food shopping and household errands, batch cooking and preparing healthy family meals and keeping children's bedrooms, wardrobes and play areas organised. They’re looking for someone who is warm, caring and nurturing, while also confident providing structure and boundaries, as well as someone who is highly organised, proactive and able to use their own initiative. Driving is not essential for this role, there is no travel and the family have no pets. The family are also willing to provide the nanny with more holiday entitlement than the statutory minimum (between 35-40 days). Occasional babysitting would be beneficial. They are looking for someone who is seeking a long-term position with a family who values professionalism, kindness, open communication and mutual respect.
