A fabulous live-out nanny position has become available, working with a professional and friendly family of three in St Albans, Hertfordshire. You will have sole charge of two happy and active children – a girl aged 14 and her brother aged 10. The children enjoy being busy and take part in many after school activities and sports. They are looking for a kind, caring, fun and reliable nanny who will enjoy spending time with them and stay long term.
The hours will be term time (34 weeks) Monday-Friday, 14.30-19.30 (25 hours). In the school holidays (18 weeks) the hours will increase to Monday-Friday, 09.30-19.30 (50 hours). Your salary will be split evenly across the year. There could also be some ad hoc overnights and additional days, but these will be mutually agreed separately and paid as overtime.
In the school holidays, you will be able to take the children on fun and educational day trips – such as trips to London, the cinema, etc. You will also be able to meet up with their friends to help them to socialise, always keeping the children happy and safe.
As well as collecting the children from school or their clubs, you will help to keep the family organised. This includes tasks such as general childcare, school admin, overseeing homework, family laundry including beds, keeping their bedrooms organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (uniform and sports kits prepared, etc). Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying the dishwasher, running the vacuum round when needed, running the occasional errand, unloading the online shopping delivery, etc).
You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the family each day, preferably homemade whenever possible.
At the end of the day, you will leave all used rooms tidy, ready for Dad to take over.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
