Starting in mid-October 2026, a twelve-month fixed-term, two-day, live-out nanny role is becoming available in Barley, Hertfordshire. There is the possibility that the role could be extended by mutual agreement.
This professional and friendly family enjoys walking and has a love of the outdoors. They also like reading and music. They are looking for an Ofsted-registered nanny, or someone willing to become registered. You should be a team player, a good communicator, creative, active, and fun. They feel the most important thing is to find someone who will fit well into their lives.
You will have sole caring responsibility for two happy and active children—a boy aged three and his little sister, aged one. The little boy will be attending nursery each morning from September. The parents or the children’s Grandmother will drop and collect the little boy from nursery.
The hours for this role will be Monday and Tuesday, 09:30–17:30 (16 hours per week). There may also be the opportunity for additional ad hoc hours and babysitting; however, these will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.
The parents are keen for their children to learn and develop in a balanced way, reaching key developmental milestones. This will include a mix of educational and stimulating indoor activities (such as sensory play, reading stories, singing songs, crafts, den building, and treasure hunts), alongside plenty of outdoor play and walks in the fresh air.
Although the family employs a fortnightly cleaner, they are looking for someone proactive who can assist with simple daily tasks such as emptying the dishwasher and ensuring all rooms are tidy at the end of the day. Alongside keeping all areas used by the children organised (kitchen, children’s bedrooms, playroom, etc.), duties will include staying on top of the children’s laundry. You will also be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children—homemade predominantly, with meals prepared in advance and frozen when appropriate.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
