A warm and professional family of four based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, is seeking an experienced and dependable housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. A candidate who would like to stay long term would be ideal.
They have two little girls, 3.5 years and 13 months. They both attend nursery for some of the week. They also have two friendly medium-sized dogs who are part of the family, so a dog lover is essential.
Mum has a busy role mainly out of the home, with occasional travel. Dad works from home and cares for the children, so a team player is essential.
They live in a stylish four-bedroom house and have a great attention to detail and a love of interior design.
The hours of the role are Monday-Thursday, 10.30-18.30 (32 hours/week).
The family has a weekly cleaner, for deep cleaning, so the housekeeper’s responsibilities will include:
• General tidying and organising throughout the home, with a daily reset of the kitchen, playroom, bedrooms, etc
• Organisation, management and systems: wardrobes, drawers, pantry and toy management/playroom
• Family laundry (clothes and bedding) and ironing
• Changing beds regularly
• Household admin – online food orders, booking tickets, dry cleaning collection, post office runs, local food shopping (butchers, etc)
• Putting away household shopping
• Sorting bins and recycling
• Keeping household items (e.g. cleaning products etc) and food stocked up
• Preparing and cooking a healthy and nutritious family meal, batch cooking when required
• Preparing packed lunches for the girls to take to nursery
• Preparing for girls for the following day (laying out uniforms, packing school bags, etc)
• Occasional dog walking when required (they have a dog walker)
A duty car is available for running errands.
Although this is mainly a housekeeping role, someone who enjoys being around children and is happy to play the occasional game would be a lovely fit. Additional paid hours for overtime or babysitting may be available by mutual agreement.
The family is looking for someone warm, trustworthy, kind, and attentive to detail. They would love to find a candidate who enjoys being around children, brings a positive and supportive energy to the home, and is able to use their initiative.
