Starting in April 2026, a wonderful four-day live-out nanny/housekeeper position has become available in Hambleden, Buckinghamshire. This professional family is extremely friendly, active, and sporty, with a love of the outdoors and country life. They have two Golden Retrievers who are very much part of the family, so a love of dogs is essential.
You will be caring for a happy and active little girl aged 2½ years.
The hours of the role are Monday to Thursday, 08:30–16:30 (32 hours/week). Some flexibility in these hours will be appreciated, but any additional hours will be paid as overtime. There is also the possibility of additional ad hoc hours and babysitting; however, these will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime. The role could also work as a three day position. The salary would be adjusted for this option.
The family is looking for a nurturing, friendly, and active nanny/housekeeper who can stay long-term and become part of their happy household. They feel the most important thing is to find someone who will fit well into their lives. The nanny should be a team player, a good communicator, creative, active, and fun.
The parents are keen for their little girl to learn and develop in a balanced way, reaching her various developmental milestones—with lots of educational and stimulating indoor activities (sensory games, reading stories, singing songs, crafts, den building, treasure hunts, etc.) mixed with plenty of outdoor play and walks in the fresh air. The family lives in a rural location, in a house with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the nanny to use. A nanny who is interested in child development and having fun is essential.
The little girl attends nursery two mornings a week, when you will have time to help keep the house running smoothly. Although the family employs a weekly cleaner, someone proactive is required to assist with simple daily tasks such as emptying the dishwasher, ensuring all rooms are tidy at the end of the day, managing deliveries, keeping household supplies stocked, dog walking, etc. Along with keeping all areas used organised (kitchen, child’s bedroom, playroom, etc.), the duties include keeping on top of the child’s laundry and changing her bed. You will also be responsible for providing her with healthy and nutritious meals, homemade as often as possible, with plenty prepared in advance and frozen.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
This is a fabulous role and would suit someone who is happy to make a long-term commitment.
