An exciting opportunity has arisen for a warm, patient, caring, energetic and proactive nanny to join a friendly, professional family in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, from January 2027.
The role is four days per week, 07.00–19.00 (48 hours), with the non-working day agreed mutually. Flexibility is required around the parents’ work commitments. Additional hours and agreed babysitting will be paid as overtime.
The family enjoys an active, healthy lifestyle, valuing outdoor adventures, nutritious home-cooked food and learning through play. A genuine love of dogs is essential, as their two much-loved Dachshunds are part of the family.
You will care for a delightful, healthy and curious little boy, around nine months old when the role begins. His parents want to nurture his confidence, curiosity and independence through calm, stimulating care, with no screen time and attentive supervision. Mum is on maternity leave until February 2027, providing time to establish routines and build a trusting relationship before returning to work. Both parents work full time and have demanding schedules and a long commute.
The role includes supporting development through reading, singing, puzzles, imaginative play and outdoor adventures, including walks, parks, woodland, museums and child-friendly outings. The family hopes to continue weekly Baby Sensory and swimming classes, baby groups and playdates, so enthusiasm for planning activities is important.
Responsibilities include preparing fresh, nutritious meals during weaning, following nap routines and managing bath and bedtime. Nursery duties include keeping the child’s areas tidy, managing laundry and batch cooking. Help with small daily tasks, such as emptying the dishwasher, is appreciated. A weekly cleaner is employed, keeping the focus on childcare and child-related duties.
The two Dachshunds will be your daytime companions. You will feed them breakfast and let them into the garden several times daily. Walking is not required, but they cannot be left alone for more than four hours, so outings must be planned accordingly.
A confident, careful driver with a clean licence and own fully insured car is essential for taking the child to activities. Duty mileage is reimbursed, and an EV charging point is available. The family also provides David Lloyd nanny and National Trust memberships, supporting activities such as visits to nearby Waddesdon Manor.
The ideal candidate will be nurturing, reliable and organised, with a proactive approach to planning and a passion for child development. Knowledge of infant development and weaning, confidence preparing healthy meals, enthusiasm for outdoor play and willingness to care for the family dogs are essential.
This is a wonderful opportunity to build a special bond with a growing little boy and become a valued member of a friendly, welcoming family. The parents hope to find someone who shares their values and will take pride in helping their son become a curious, confident and independent little person.
