Starting in October 2026, a fabulous full-time live-in nanny/housekeeper position will become available, for an experienced person to look after the home of a friendly family of four and their two labradors. Based in Everton, near Sandy, Bedfordshire, the family live on a farming estate, so a country loving nanny who enjoys the outdoors would be ideal.
The children are two little girls aged three and two, with hopefully more siblings to come along in time. Mum and Dad both work predominantly from home. They would like to find a kind and friendly person who can fit into family life, and stay with them long term.
Your accommodation will be a two-bedroom annexe next to the main house, with kitchen, lounge, bathroom, garden and separate entrance. The role could also be a live-out position if the candidate lives locally. The salary would be adjusted for this option.
There is flexibility, but the proposed hours of the role will be Mon, Weds and Fri – 11.00-19.30 & Tues and Thursday – 09.00-17.30 (37.5 hours/week). However, these hours are negotiable for the right candidate. You will have one hour each day for lunch, which will be unpaid, and you will be free to do anything you wish during this time, as the parents will be around to cover. There will also be occasional babysitting and weekend work. Any additional hours will be mutually agreed in advance and given as time in lieu.
The family is active, they enjoy being outside in the fresh air. The girls attend a forest school nursery on three days each week, so you will help with the pick-up on those days. On the other two days, you will keep the children entertained with a mixture of fun and educational activities and outdoor adventures.
While the children are at nursery, you will have time to keep the home organised.
Duties to include:
• Tidying and organising the home
• Cleaning all rooms to a high standard
• Family laundry – including bedding and clothes
• Ironing
• Bed changing
• Help to prepare and cook meals for the children
• Occasional help serving and clearing for lunch/dinner parties
The role also occasionally includes looking after the house and dogs while the family is away. Any additional hours will be mutually agreed, and time can be taken in lieu.
If desired, there is occasional travel on offer with the family, but this is not essential.
You will be a careful and confident driver, with a clean licence. There is a duty car available.
The family is looking for someone who would like to muck in and become part of the family and stay long-term, hopefully seeing the children through their school years. The candidate will be a warm, friendly and honest person who is pleasant to have around and has a love of children.
