As we prepare to say good bye to summer for another year, we can eagerly await Autumn. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter and whilst some people find it hard to say goodbye to the warmer weather, others adore this time of year.
A true sign that Autumn is upon us is when the evenings start to become darker earlier and the mornings stay darker for longer. The weather begins to feel colder as the temperature starts to fall. A significant sign of the arrival of Autumn will be when the leaves start to change colour from green into rich reds and yellows and start to shed.

A true sign that Autumn has arrived is when we see conkers and acorns beginning to fall from the trees.
Children enjoy going out and seeing what they can find. Have a go at going conker hunting and see if you can build up a collection of conkers.
Having fun and getting creative in the kitchen is the perfect activity for children to get involved with. Have a go at baking some ‘Autumn themed’ treats to get you in the mood for this coming season.
When you think of Autumn, what comes to mind? Halloween, falling leaves, darker evenings? Maybe it it a specific colour, red, orange or brown. Whatever you relate to the season, try and incorporate it into your baking.
