A warm and welcoming family based in Bow, East London, are looking for a lovely nanny housekeeper to care for their two boys, aged 2 and 5, with an ASAP start. The family ideally require someone for three days per week, between Monday to Thursday, although they could offer four days for the right candidate. The family are very flexible and could offer hours of 1pm–7pm, but are happy to discuss alternative arrangements for the right person, for instance if the nanny wanted some more hours then extra cleaning could be offered. The salary on offer is between £23-25gph DOE.
Before the boys are collected, the role will focus on housekeeping duties, including family cooking, laundry, changing bed linen, occasional grocery shopping and other household errands. The family are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys keeping a home tidy, organised and running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be happy to muck in wherever needed, take pride in their work and use their initiative to identify what needs doing without always being asked.
In the afternoons, the role will involve collecting the 5-year-old from school, which is conveniently located around the corner from the family home, and the 2-year-old from nursery, which is approximately a 20-minute walk or bus ride away. Once home, the nanny will spend quality time with the boys through play, reading, helping with homework, preparing snacks and supporting their afternoon routines. Occasional help with bath time and getting the boys ready for bed may also be required.
The family are looking for someone who genuinely loves children and is proactive, flexible and adaptable, with a warm and nurturing approach. A positive attitude, a willingness to get involved and the ability to balance childcare with housekeeping responsibilities are essential. A love of cooking is also important, as the family would like someone who can prepare nutritious meals for everyone to enjoy.
A Dutch or Spanish speaker would be a wonderful bonus, although this is by no means essential. The family have two cats, so the successful candidate must be comfortable around animals. There is no driving or travel required for this position.
