A wonderful, warm and down-to-earth family with two children aged 1 and 8 are looking for a kind, highly personable and adaptable Nanny/Housekeeper to join their family in Golders Green, situated close to Golders Hill Park. The position is to start as soon as possible and will be Monday to Friday, 10am–7pm, totalling 45 hours per week, with some flexibility with start and finish times. The family are offering a salary of £21–£24 gross per hour DOE (£49,140-£56,160 gross per annum).
This is a shared-care role, as Mum is a stay-at-home mother, so finding someone with whom there is a natural personal chemistry and someone with an easy, comfortable presence is particularly important. The successful candidate will work closely alongside Mum and needs to be warm, empathetic, flexible and able to fit seamlessly into family life. They are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is happy to muck in and who genuinely enjoys being part of a busy, hands-on household.
The role will involve a combination of childcare and household responsibilities. Duties will include cooking, light cleaning, laundry, tidying and helping to keep the home organised and running smoothly, so being highly organised and able to declutter is a must. The ideal candidate will be proactive and able to see what needs doing without always needing to be prompted. They should enjoy cooking and be happy preparing family meals, as well as taking initiative with the children by setting up messy play, sensory activities and creative games in their lovely, spacious nursery.
The eldest child is 8 years old and has high-functioning autism. He is a sweet-natured child who forms close and meaningful bonds with those around him. The family are therefore looking for someone who is naturally warm, playful, patient and empathetic, and who will take the time to build a trusting relationship with him and their youngest.
The role will involve caring for both children as appropriate, working collaboratively with Mum throughout the day. There is no travel required or driving and the family have no pets, although the eldest child keeps chickens at his grandmother’s garden nearby. Visiting the grandmother with the family will also be required. Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential, as the right personality, attitude and ability to fit naturally into the family are the priority.
