The Nanny and Childcare Specialists

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a nanny who is experienced with newborns, to join a lovely family in Hitchin, North Hertfordshire, from the end of June or beginning of July.

The warm and friendly professional couple is looking for a kind, nurturing and experienced nanny to help care for their newborn baby. They are flexible as to whether the role is live-in or live-out for the right person and are keen to find someone who is looking to make a long-term commitment and become a valued part of their family.

You will be caring for one delightful newborn baby boy aged eight weeks.

If you live in, your accommodation will be a large bedroom with en-suite.

The role will be working Monday to Thursday from 08.00 – 18.00, totalling 40 hours per week. There may be occasional additional hours available by mutual agreement, and flexibility would be appreciated when required.

As this is a newborn role, previous experience caring for babies from birth is essential. The family is looking for a calm, confident and knowledgeable nanny who is passionate about supporting children’s early development and wellbeing. You should be warm, trustworthy and organised, with a proactive approach and a genuine love of working with young children.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping to establish and maintain the baby’s routines, supporting healthy sleep habits and providing attentive, nurturing care. As the baby grows, you will plan age-appropriate activities to encourage development and provide stimulating and engaging experiences both at home and out and about.

The family would love to find someone who enjoys building a close relationship with the children in their care and who takes pride in creating a happy, secure and loving environment. A nanny who is confident, professional and able to work independently, while maintaining open communication with the parents would be ideally suited to the role.

Nursery duties will include all aspects of childcare, such as preparing and sterilising bottles, keeping the nursery and all baby areas clean and organised, staying on top of the baby’s laundry and ensuring clothing and equipment are well maintained. As weaning approaches, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks and supporting the baby through each developmental stage.

Whilst the family employs a weekly cleaner, some light housekeeping duties related to the child and helping to keep the home running smoothly would be appreciated.

The ideal candidate will hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate (update) and a paediatric first aid qualification. A driver would be advantageous, although this is not essential, and fluent English is required.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a welcoming family who are looking for a nanny to become an important and valued part of their lives.
