This super family are looking for a permanent, ad hoc, ‘flexible’ nanny to care for their 2 happy, bubbly children aged 2 and 5 years-old and support their working parents.
The family’s ideal situation is offering annualised hours, paid pro rata. This is to support Mum’s work involving some travel (about 5 days every 5 weeks). When at home she likes to be with the children as much as she can, but when she’s away a lot of support is required. By the same token, during term times the children are in school/nursery, but in the holidays more hours will be needed. The average hours would work out as 20 hours a week.
A typical term time week when mum is home, might look like 7.30-9.15am drops offs, 3 times a week and collections 2.30-5.30pm, 3 times a week; a school holiday might look like 9-5pm, 3 times a week. When mum is away, help might also be needed on a Sunday morning 8.30-12 (dad is a vicar) and doing school runs 4 times a week (dad doesn’t drive). The hours needed may therefore reflect whether mum is travelling or not; school term time or holidays.
Home is a working vicarage with a large garden all set in an idyllic spot under the Downs, perfect for nature walks and Gruffalo/Bear hunts with the children. The children speak English and Mandarin.
Location of the job: Cocking (between Chichester and Midhurst), West Sussex.
Minimum experience level for this job: nanny experience with pre-school and school aged children.
Hours of work: ad hoc; approx. 20 hours per week. More hours could be offered for a nanny/housekeeper/PA position.
Duties: nursery and school drop offs and pickups, after school activities, supporting the children’s after nursery/school routine, encouraging play inside and out, some calm time, craft activities, singing and reading, cooking together and some meal preparation; nursery duties (a cleaner is also employed).
Pets in the home: 1 friendly, family dog.
Driving required: yes; use of family car available – nursery and school are a 5 mile journey away.
