A friendly family of four in Harpenden, Hertfordshire is looking for an experienced, reliable housekeeper to help keep their home running smoothly, while also supporting with after-school care for their two young children (a four-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother). Both children attend school and nursery during the day.
The family live in a modern new-build home, ideally located close to Harpenden town. They would like someone who can balance general housekeeping with school and nursery pick-ups, followed by caring for the children until their parents return from work.
Working hours:
• Monday to Friday
• 14.30 – 18.30 (20 hours/week)
• Collect children at around 18.00, then provide a light snack and occupy them until their parents arrive home
Household responsibilities will include:
• General tidying and organising around the home
• Cleaning all rooms to a high standard
• Family laundry (clothes and bedding) and ironing
• Changing beds regularly
• Putting away household shopping
• Running errands (e.g., dry cleaning, post office)
• Preparing simple batch meals for the children
A fully insured car is essential for pick-ups and errands (duty mileage will be reimbursed).
The family is hoping to find someone warm, trustworthy, and kind – someone who enjoys being around children and will bring a positive, supportive presence to their home.
